Anniversary!

Modern Romance: Dave gave me this scratchie card revealing a smoochie emoticon (Someone needs a manicure...)
Dave and I just celebrated the five year anniversary of our first smooch. So today, it's 5 years + 1 day.
We had a sweet date on Saturday. It was dinner at Sushi Yasuda followed by a movie.

By the way, this was our first movie in a movie theater this year. Being able to stream movies at home has rendered us (mostly me) unable to get my butt out of the house and go watch movies with a bunch of strangers in a dark room. Our comfy couch, popping my own delicious popcorn and snuggling in our PJs has made the option to stay at home a better one. Maybe 2015 will be better. We're also glad we got to watch Interstellar in the movie theater. Action movies are meant to be watched on a big screen. It's just so much better!

Our most recent shot together on December 2

Dave, I love you with all my heart and you're my black hole. I just can't stay away from you.

nykeiko eats: Anniversary = good food [Balthazar NYC]

On our wedding day...

Do you like to be reminded on how long you and your significant other have been together for?
Also, once you're married, do you still celebrate THAT anniversary or the new "day-we-got-married" wedding anniversary? Or both? Interesting... I get all types of answers. I almost forgot about THAT anniversary (we have been together for 4 years and married for 4 months!) but I have a good husband who reminded me when he told me that he made restaurant reservations for the occasion. If eating is in the plans, I would love to celebrate all our anniversaries please!

We enjoyed a delicious meal at french fare Balthazar. A classic New York restaurant opened back in 1997 in the heart of Soho. Dave made the reservation one month in advance to make sure we got a seat or else it's usually a long wait for walk-ins.

Thank you babe for always feeding me the good stuff!

Everything was yum especially the escargots which I never had coming directly out of the shell! It should always be served like this to preserve the tenderness and juiciness! The tartare was good and Dave's homemade fries were also good. I was sad we didn't leave any room for dessert because I would have really liked to try the lemon mille-feuille or the crème brulée! Oh well...next time right honey? *wink wink*

Happy birthday blog!

New York à la Keiko is 3 years old today!! Which also means that I have been living in New York for just over 3 years!

People often ask me if I plan on staying in New York forever... Well, it is difficult to answer because it is difficult to plan life. Just like I had never planned on moving in New York in the first place. For now, I know that I will be calling New York my home for a while. Sometimes I can see why New York can be so hard and why many people think if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. New York really swallows you, chews you up and spits you out but often stronger and better. I'm looking forward to living here for many more years however, if opportune comes to live elsewhere, I think I'm up for it. Life's too short to stick around in one place but sticking around in New York will always be fun and exciting. Dave is a born and bred New Yorker but he's just as excited as me to explore the city every chance we get :)

How many years do I have to live in New York to truly feel like a New Yorker?

Thank you always for reading or just stopping by!
