NYFW: Marchesa Fall 2016 [New York Fashion Week Fall 2016]
Ummmmm yea, this happened two weeks ago but just had time to upload my pictures and post now.
The Marchesa show was the third and last show I attended during New York Fashion Week. I also attended Herve Leger the week before but couldn't get one single good picture from where I sat.
I loooved the Marchesa show. The venue was smaller and got to be closer to the runway which was nice since the dresses are definitely very detail-oriented. The dresses were so yummy and dreamy. I was reminded about writing this post when I saw pictures of Heidi Klum wearing one of the dresses to the Oscars last night, probably straight from the runway! See more pics after the jump...

NYFW: BCBG MAXAZRIA fashion show [New York Fashion Week Fall 2016]
New York Fashion Week is back! I didn't think I would be able to make any shows this season but after being a milking cow (more about that later) for a month, I NEEDED to get out. It has been exactly a year since I attended a show (see Jenny Packham and Badgley Mishka posts) so I asked a friend if she's got any invites I could use. I'll be attending three shows. My first show this season is BCBG by Max Azria. The show was kind of a dud for me. The colors and textures were just not to my taste. I think I liked one jacket but that is all. Oh well! I ain't a fashion buyer so it doesn't matter what I think right? I regretted leaving the comfort of our cozy apartment but what was exciting for me was going to Whole Foods after the show to get some sushi haha!
This was my first time attending a show at NYFW's new location since they moved last year. 'Skylight at Moynihan Station' is inside the historic James A. Farley post office on 33rd street. The BCBG show was in one of the larger of the three venues inside Skylight, 'The Arc' which is fairly big and airy. They definitely can fit a lot more people here. However, unlike back in the tents at Lincoln Center, there were no freebies (drinks, greeting cards, complimentary makeup or blow outs etc.). No fun for hanging out.
For the show, I was sitting in the 4th row so I was not close enough to the runway to take decent pictures. This was the best I can do with my iphone and SLR...See more pics after the jump!

Under the Mercedes Benz NYFW tents..I am on cloud 9! PART 1
What a weekend I just had!
I feel like I was living in somebody else's shoes these past few days. This year, kicking off with Fashion Night Out to watching not one but TWO live Fashion shows (for some, this is not a big deal since I know some bloggers that attend dozens of shows but remind you this is not my full time job :) from the tents of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week ..oh and non Fashion Week activities such as book signings of my fav bloggers, finally trying Momofuku's Ssäm bar which has been listed in "The World's 50 Best Restaurants" (I'll try to review it soon!), a BBQ, touring NY Distilling Company, the FredFlare sample sale where I scored $10 Urbanears headphones and checking out artists for 'Go Brooklyn Art', I was in a bubble of fun fun fun.
It is so very unlike me to go out almost every night and not complain about it but when it is doing something new and definitely interesting for me, I eat it all up. Fashion week is like going to a buffet. So many good things to pick from but cannot have it all :) I also forget that I am tired or hungry and don't care much about catching up on my sleep. This is definitely the first time since I've moved to the city that I have immersed myself so fully into Fashion week i.e. attend FNO AND fashion shows at the Lincoln Center. Last year, I was so lucky to attend my friend's fashion show at the Metropolitan Pavilion but my dream was to see a fashion show at the Lincoln Center and here I am trying to process the fact that I did it.
Under the Mercedes Benz Fashion week tents, I felt so out of place and excited at the same time. I tried to absorb it all and could not believe where I was standing as I took pictures and videos of everything I saw. So many godamn fashionable ladies to look out..those bags, those shoes..wow!
Here's a glimpse of the Zang Toi fashion show I attended on September 9 th. My camera could not capture the color of fluffy pink dress she was wearing so instead she looks like a fairy princess of some sort fluttering on the runway. You can still enjoy the music, movement and shape of dress and how it all came together. It was beautiful and I will of course post more pictures soon!

Snapshots from Sachika NYFW Style 360 fashion show F/W '12
The Sachika Fall Winter 2012 Fashion Show was fun, eclectic and models with attitude strutted the runway. The texture of the clothes were so rich and made every model look so good.
The show started with a intro video and quickly escalated to the models strutting down the runway. Everyone was excited!

My first NY Fashion Week runway show for Sachika's Fall/Winter '12 collection!
Of course a NY dream of mine is to see a real runway show with top designer labels during New York Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center however, I know that tickets are hard to come by unless you know the right peeps in the business (or sneak in!)... Maybe one day, maybe!
So I was very excited and happy when To-Nya, designer and founder of Sachika whose partner is her twin sister To-Tam (they are identical twins!), invited me to their F/W '12 NYFW Style 360 fashion show hosted by Elle Magazine on Valentine's Day (Sorry Dave!) at the Metropolitan Pavilion. I did not hesitate to RSVP!
I want to support these girls whom I worked with at a sushi restaurant back in Montreal wayyy back in 2003. It has been a long road for them to success but they did it! They have designed for or styled celebs in the likes of Nicki Minaj, Kat De Luna, Miss USA Alyssa Campanella, Patti Stanger, Coco and more. It is super exciting for me to see them during a very hectic but exciting time I'm sure! I believe it is their 3rd NYFW show and got the hang of it by now. I was a tad sad I could not attend their show at last year's SS NYFW because seats were filled so I'm happy I get to go this year :)
I remember reading about and seeing pictures of their very first NYFW show for Spring/Summer 2011 back in 2010 where some celebrities walked the runway including reality TV show housewives, singers and models. However, one particular dress on a curvaceous woman put both Sachika and her on the media radar. Ice T's wife Coco, walked down the runway wearing this number and made some major headlines during fashion week. You can see Kelly Osbourne dressed up as Coco for Halloween in the Sachika dress on her E! Fashion Police show. They have recently expanded to L.A. and obviously want to eventually "conquer the world" with their brand. They also model, sing and act on the side!
Since I have moved to NY almost two years ago I have only had the chance to hang out with these busy sisters twice which is not enough...
I must mention that this would not be my first time seeing a show during NYFW. Last Fall, my friend J got us a RSVP for a show for a past 'Project Runway' contestant designer Logan Neitzel for his SS '12 collection. It was not at all what I expected. The venue was small, there was no runway and the collection was small. I was slightly disappointed because it was not a real runway show like I had initially though however, the free booze open bar post-collection viewing totally made up for it! It was a fun experience!
Now the question is, what am I going to wear??
