#TBT=#MyThrowbackTravels #43: Aruba!

Day after my birthday in 2010.

Though I hate sand in my bikini bottom, I would do anything to get sand in my bikini bottom right now.

#TBT= My#ThrowbackTravels #42: Chérie's Beachside Haircuts [Hawaii]

While driving from one destination to another in Hawaii with no planned itinerary, we saw a sign on the side of the road: "Chérie's Beachside Haircuts". "You need a haircut!" I squealed. "Do it here! Do it here!" Nothing excites me more than encouraging my husband to get a haircut in a shaggy little hut by the side of a dusty road. Dave is used to $4 buzz cuts from Chinatown so how bad can this be?

My #TBT=#ThrowbackTravels #35: Kona, Big Island, Hawaii

That time we put on some snorkels and jumped into the pitch black sea to stalk a group of manta rays feast some on plankton...

#TBT=My #ThrowbackTravels #34: Svartifoss, Iceland [September 2014]

Svartifoss Iceland

A very popular short hike in Vatnajokull National Park... It took us less than an hour from the visitor center to get there and needed to wait for space to get this shot without people.

#TBT=My #ThrowbackTravels #33: Peninsula Valdes, Argentina [November 2012]

My pictures are not comparable to those taken by Sebastiao Salgado's photographs (See my previous post here.) The whales we saw did not play, dive or even moved at all. All of the whales we saw were mothers caring for their calf and resting on the surface of the shallow waters of the peninsula. I felt bad when the boat we were on got so close to them. It was quite irresponsible of the captain and perhaps have maybe bumped into one of the calf at one point or another. Despite the tourism, there is still a thriving population of Southern Right Whales that come to the Peninsula to care for their newborns until they are big and strong to migrate up north when winter comes.

I have yet to write about our journey to Argentina which was right after our hike in Torres Del Paine which I wrote about here.

#TBT=My #ThrowbackTravels #32: Perito Moreno glacier, Argentina

Hiking the Perito Moreno Glacier

If I had a bucket list, then hiking a glacier would be on it and then I could cross it off!

Another TBT of the glacier here.

#TBT=My #ThrowbackTravels #27: Viva Las Vegas, 2010

This was the first of two trips we took to Vegas when we got an 'All You Can Jet' Jet blue pass (unlimited flights for one whole month). We had forgotten our camera at home for this particular trip and we were bummed because I of course, absolutely wanted to take a nice picture of the infamous Vegas sign. Luckily, the taxi driver that took us from the airport to the hotel let us use his digital camera and even took multiple pictures of us to get this shot of us. I downloaded the pictures from his camera onto my laptop before we arrived to our hotel. Don't remember if we gave him a big tip but he sure deserved one!

#TBT=My #ThrowbackTravels #24: Pudong, Shanghai

Putong, Shanghai

I have nice memories of Shanghai. Like this beer bottle opener looking building (Shanghai World Financial center) and oh yes, how my friend and I sneaked into the Grand Hyatt's pool in our underwear before concierge kicked us out. That's in the building (Jin Mao) on the left.
